Located on Wellesley Island, a 5-minute boat ride from Boldt Castle (see previous post) is the yacht house.

At its peak, over 50 different types of speed boats, canoes, kayaks and steamboats were stored inside the yacht house.

Built in Shingle style with towering spires and steep gables, with some elements of Tudor Revival from the exposed timber, the Boldt Castle Yacht house was built simply on a different scale.

Even the grandest mansions on Thousand Island’s “Millionaire’s Row”, like “Casa Blanca” or the “Skull & Bones” Mansion can match the sheer size of the yacht house.

With the topography of Thousand Islands and the peak of the gilded age, grand structures like the yacht house where cost was no object, was built at the right place and at the right time. There is nothing else like this.

It is unlikely that this will be replicated again, making it perhaps even more unique than Boldt Castle itself.
