Regency Chocolate Truffle
Unionville Main Street, Markham is located 30 mins from Downtown Toronto.
I love this street, not only because it is a street full of old houses, but also my favorite confectionery shop is just down the road. The old fire station has the best chocolate truffle selection.
The icing on the truffle is, every time I go get my truffles, I pass by my favorite old house in Markham.

This Regency cottage once belonged to the family which originally settled in Markham back in 1794.
As grand as the Eckardt house may be, it is dwarfed by the greeneries (probably as old as the house, too) encircling it. Like a chocolate truffle, the surrounding trees, are like the chocolate coating, and the house is like the lovely and creaming ganache filling inside the truffle.
The tall casement windows wrapped around the main door, helps let natural lights into the house.

The combination of pointy gothic windows at the top, with black shutters and the black iron ornamental balcony is such a tasty combination.
The use of white color harks back to the tropical origin of Recency design from the warmer colonies in the early 1800’s.
Like a chocolate truffle, this house is so sweet and charming, full of so many delicious details, you almost want to take it in, enjoy it slowly and admire the flavors and details for as long as possible, like a chocolate truffle.
